We have been working hard on our mission project now for 3 years, looking at who we are as a church, talking to our local community, finding out what needs there are and seeing how we can fulfil our mission to serve God and our town of Batley and surrounding areas.
We have been working with Future Kraft to build our plan to develop our building and to recruit staff to develop an outreach programme and build partnerships.
We aim to develop and offer services in line with the needs of the community.
We are starting working with Pearce Bottomley Architects to see what can be achieved with the building -we want to improve accessibility and ensure the space is welcoming, open and flexible whilst conserving the historic parts of our building. Watch this space!
We hope soon to be able to employ an Outreach Development Worker to build on and create partnerships and to recruit more volunteers to help.
We ask for your prayers and encouragement as we navigate this journey. The church is using what funds we have available, we have secured some funding from our Methodist District and we are applying for other grants towards helping us progress.
We believe that this is what God wants us to do here in Batley and that our home here has a place for everyone
in our community.
